Mad Essence is a Ukrainian alternative metal band, formed in Chernigov in 2007 (currently based in Kiev). According to critics, ME is one of definitive representatives of 'electronicore'. During its activity, the line-up has changed several times; members of other music bands were invited to collaborate as guests and/or co-writers (Soul Cycle, Abstract Deviation, Mill.Kill.Way, Amogh Symphony, to name a few), the sole constant member being Fatum Black, the founder and frontman of ME. The central themes of the songs are anarchism, anticlericalism, transhumanism, cyberpunk. The band has released 5 studio albums so far.
